I spent 16 years with GM.

If you do a lot of work with the government (defense) - you have diveristy EEO laws to juggle.

P.S. Unisys just beat their expected numbers and said it was the result of offshore farming out of software projects.

As far as I know, there is no legal requirement to impose a quota system to attain diversity. If you think that there is, can you please quote that law? Thanks!

Here is a good article, it seems to be based on Kansas laws, but looks pretty universal. I think it is current.

The question wrt this law, is how is it implemented at various companies. Nobody tells their hiring managers that they "have to" hire x number of minorities (non white). But they issue "guidelines" which is exactly the same as saying what you can and can't do. My sense is that there is almost no company that would tolerate a hiring manager with say 3 underlying depts with 6 staff members each, or a total of 19 employees hiring an all white staff. Somebody would say something, for sure. Otoh, there are many many companies who don't flinch at all at hiring the same number of foreign nationals. Not ok with me, if I have to obey this diversity law then everybody should have to, thats all I'm saying.
