Hopefully, they were fed liberal amounts of lead...

Time will tell what this war really costs us. I supported it in general but mainly because I knew it was inevitable anyway, that Bush had made up his mind UN or no UN, so might as well hope for the best. But as much as I wanted Saddam taken out (back in 1991 preferably) this adventure may turn out to be extremely expensive to the US in a multitude of ways.

1) Harmed alliances, less cooperation
2) Longer paralyzed global economy
3) Bogged down in the Arab world
4) Our oil companies reap $$$ but pay few taxes
5) Deficits galore
6) Our troops as "Iraq cops" with targets on their backs
7) 9 months of backward progress on other issues
8) KIA's
9) Having to pay for Iraq for many years
10) More tension in the Arab world

Now the good things:

1) Saddam not around anymore
2) Can counter OPEC
3) Dont need Saudi or Turkish bases
4) Israel safer
5) Our military gains valuable experience

Plus two maybes:

Possibly, we destroy from WMD's if we find them
MAYBE this shuts up some American-hating Arabs, maybe

What we dont know:

Will this mean more terrorism or less?

Er... that's because Tikrit is the Iraqi heartland of the Baath Party.
