Eager to rebuild their country after years of misrule, will Iraqis really swallow the
shameless plans of Bush insiders to privatize Iraqi oil while the administration
awards billions of dollars in contracts to U.S. companies?

What choice do they have? Actions by the U.S. ensured that looters finished off any infrastructure that was not affected by bombing. The Americans have the oil. The Iraqis will be fed indepedance piece by piece until the oil drys up in a few decades. Then they can inherit the cleanup.
