Think about all the billions that will pour into Iraq instead of your local police department, fire department, emergency preparedness system, hospitals, etc.......

ya, and then it'll really sting if they democratically elect a fundamental Islamic government...

Why not? They use it for "dual technology", rebuild everything and then the bombing can start over again (especially if the new iraqi leader looks too much like Saddam). Therefore it made only sense to have a U.S. led military regime installed for the next decade.

As we know that this won't work, the 2nd best solution would be not to rebuild anything.
