An interesting exchange is taking place on the Yahoo boards concerning the recent activity in Westell. Apart from what is being discussed is something that strikes me as positive, that being the current psychology around Westell's stock. The run to $5.00 didn't hold, because as others said the stock was running ahead of fundamentals that had yet to materialize. But the run to $5.00 showed that there are many that believe that the anticipated positive fundamentals will materialize. Even the retracement to the low 4's was orderly and followed the script related to the fundamentals mentioned by Baird and others. However I predict that we will end up trading at a premium to that script, say in the mid 4's, because of the positive feeling among longs regarding events going forward for the stock. I believe a similar state of psychology is presently reflected in the overall NAS, a psychology I haven't felt for a long time, but one that represents a potent force. We don't know who the big buyer was that helped push Westell to $5.00 but we do know that the combined efforts of some small and large investors got us to $5.00, even though based on hard and fast fundamental facts we shouldn't have traded there. In other words the psychology of the NAS seems inclined to want to anticipate good things to come.
