out-of-stepper - i'll suggest they buy their coffee from the salt spring island coffee company who apparently buy their coffee through the association that promotes fair trade. The Fair Trade movement was created to provide an alternative market - one which did not encourage such destructive business practices. Alternative trade was conceived as a means of eliminating wasteful middlemen, unjust labor conditions, and unsustainable environmental practices. In the alternative trade paradigm, small plantations and cooperatives in the developing world were given the opportunity to thrive. i'm wonder how starbucks heard about little haidabucks in the first place. it boggles the mind. the big american machine just keeps bulldozing along. rosita
