My Armenian friends tell me it rivals the Nazi holocaust I have several Armenian friends and they don't have many good things to say about Turks, either. I cannot say my knowledge on the subject is exhaustive, but I do know that there was no systematic extermination as in the Nazi extermination of Jews. If killing them was the ulterior motive, as I said, Ottoman Empire would probably kill them a long time before, and they would just kill the Armenians, rather than make them walk that long road to the Russian border. While it in no way lightens the blame on the Ottoman Empire for having caused the death of so many Armenians, I do feel it was sort of unwise of Armenians to conspire with Russia against the Empire while it was fighting WWI.
