They were also taught to protect themselves against the enemy...not people of Iraq who were robbing their country of their heritage.

You must remember most of our wonderful brave young people were just that...YOUNG! Most of them have never been to a museum in their young lives, why should they sacrifice their lives for a painting that means nothing to them?

Is this the sorry new battle cry for the liberals?

TP, I must have missed that pronouncement. You wouldn't happen to have a link, would you?

The looting of the museums is a tragedy, whatever the cause. One the plus side, the much predicted slaughter of tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians never occurred. I would rather be discussing the looting of a museum than the deaths of innocents. Can I assume that we are in agreement on this?
