PB, I don't recall you as a regular on this thread. Have you come by to spread the official religion? <gg> Smart people just aren't buying the Bush lies any longer. Even at the Cato Institute, no hotbed of radical dissent, a resident scholar has this week had the temerity to raise the obvious red flags about the rise of fascism in the U.S. He stated that in the aftermath of 9/11, that the USA PATRIOT Act (UPA-I) was put on super fast track by AG John Ashcroft. Initially, and in the immediate aftermath of a very suspicious anthrax attack on the leadership of the Democratic Party, Ashcroft demanded that the several hundred page bill be passed by Congress in three days with little debate. Congress balked and finally demanded two weeks to debate the document, which was passed largely intact with only some minor revisions regarding sunsetting some of the most onerous provisions. At the same time, while Ashcroft is cramming this police state wet dream down Congress' collective throat, the Thief-In-Chief and his sidekick Oil Slick Dick were both calling Sen. Majority Leader Daschle and demanding that Daschle delay and eviscerate any investigation into failures of the secret government apparatus to gain intelligence about or to detain any of the alleged enablers of the flying circus of 9/11. So there you have it in a nutshell. On the one hand, the masters want to control everyone in society with draconian police state powers, while at the same time totally shrouding their own activities in a veil of secrecy. Can anything be more plain? We need to impeach the entire present bunch of criminals who have taken over the U.S. government in a bold and blatant coup d'etat. Nothing could be plainer.
