The main problem with the death penalty is it is irreversible. Another problem is that it is not uniformly enforced. In the OJ Simpson case, for e.g. the prosecutors did not even ask for the death penalty.

Btw, I am for the death penalty, but only in cases where the guilt can be established beyond all doubt.
