When was the last time the French and the US were on opposite sides...goes back a little further than WWII. The fact is that it doesn't matter about either one...the fact is that they are both supplying the enemy so that takes them down a few levels below friend. Before this war I really thought Russia was coming around.

<< my god, the way Bush supporters flippantly dismiss the Bush admin's complete destruction of the US's most important allies is amazing to me>>

Untrue. It was our erstwhile allies who created their own 'destruction", especially the French but the Germans and Russians were not far behind. They have a lot of 'fence mending' to do.

"I don't like the global boycott of US goods going on now."

Well since we are running a net trade deficit of $480B now, who do you think will lose in a trade war?

Bush exposed those dirty scoundrels for what they were. Let
them come groveling back pleading for mercy.

What you just can't grasp is that illegal, immoral &
unethical actions are actually wrong. I realize that these
are the precise practices of your political leaders on the
left that you so proudly embrace & practice yourself.

However, Bush got it right. These alleged allies were
wrong. Your political leaders are wrong. And you are wrong.

That's a fact.

Lizzie:

I know your working and probably missing some of the news that our government actually is not promoting (and I assume for political reasons, except the syrian oil).

Like
the 6 brand new German military helicopters (do you think this had any reason as to why Germany did not support us as these items were a direct violation to the UN sanctions)

the brand new French missles (built in 2002)

the Russian anti tank rockets (well built in 2000 so not brand new) and they took out 3 of our abrams)

Syria with the oil (ditto)

Would a reasonable person assume the interests of these 4 security council members were not in US interests.

The US is mending ties with Germany and Russia but France's betrayal will take a while.

An alliance should never be a suicide pact....
