LOL. I guess not many people in the US learn their own history, let alone the "alien" world civilization!

<he found out that Iraq is only a country with 70 years of history>

There is no point in learning foreign languages,
as They are all learning English (err, American).

There is no point in learning the history or culture of other nations,
it's all meaningless, disappearing,
They are imitating us as fast as they can.

There is no point in even listening to Their opinions,
since we have the means to make them respect us.

Fear works so much better than love, to motivate the unruly Other.

Who needs knowledge, when you have Power?

I don't get your point. The country of Iraq is 80 years old. The Brits conquered it in 1917, and withdrew formal control in 1922. Before 1917 Iraq was three provinces of the Ottoman Empire - Mosul, Baghdad and Basra.

The land of Mesopotamia spent most of its history as part of somebody else's empire - Ottoman, Persian or Greek. They fondly remember the Caliphate of Baghdad because that was their high point - when Baghdad was the center of power. But Baghdad never really recoved from the Mongol sack in 1258.
