"but the politics of visible leadership has at least earned us some respect" That is the same message I wish the house and senate republicans would understand. They often take the road of least resistance and try to appease rather than act as leaders. I think it is clear that people the world over, whether citizens in the US or in other nations desire leadership and not wishy-washy appeasement. Right or wrong, thankfully our president has chosen to take a leadership role, acting out of conviction of belief, rather than being driven by popular world opinion as it changes hourly.
