Should they fail, I predict Southwest would enter the international market in a heartbeat. Some overseas carriers have already demonstrated the viability of a low cost business model. Do you remember PanAm and TWA? They were once our major international carriers but others (AA and United) quickly stepped up to the plate when they failed. International is probably the one area of profitability left for current majors (i.e. until SARS killed the Asian routes).
