As I grow older I take solace in the saying, "Most people are shit and they get what they deserve." That pretty much sums up the world we live in. There is no other explanation why working people would consistently vote against their own interests and elect Republicans. There just aren't that many rich people in this country to vote the Republicans into office in any major way (and quite a few of them vote Democratic because they are more socially moderate). It's really not that hard for the rich to fool the poor. Just look at this latest war against Iraq. How many wealthy people's and sons and daughters fought in Iraq? Who is going to benefit when the U.S. ultimately takes over Iraq's oil production? That is how the world works. But, people don't want to change it.
