And the tools of engineers, the compilers, the simulators the fault analysis, the embedded programmable logic get cheaper and faster and more flexible and robots get cheaper and cheaper.

Cost of labor, cost of transportation, cost of energy shift.
Cost increases due to security costs in shipping. the cost equation. The internet allows more and more just in time custom manufacturing and automation can make variety as cheaply as mass produced.

The technology retards will never see the simple shifts in cost structure.

I guess you never heard Greenspan speaking of increases in productivity that still continue.
