<Don't you spend a couple of million $ to save a whale gone astray here, provide emergency Lear jet flights for birds eggs there?>

That's money spent on Life. Yes, all that is money well spent. I know, it's easy to ridicule some of it, but the impulse behind it is a reverence for life, all life, and that is Good.

What I've been seeing on CNN for the last month, is money spent on Death, and a triumphant national glorification of Death. Careful, meticulous, organized, scientifically rigorous, Information Age Death. And that is Bad.

<Why does it hurt (you) so much to be a good American ?>

I am a good American. I just have a very, very different definition of what that means. It's my flag, as much as the NeoCons. I march carrying an American flag, and a peace sign, with no contradiction. I see our soldiers in Baghdad, in the same role as the Redcoats at Lexington and Concord. We are now the colonial occupying army, holding foreign lands by force. We have mutated, abandoned our original ideals, become what we originally made a Revolution against. It is the NeoCons who are the UnAmericans. It is the NeoCons who hide behind a hedge of ephemisms, defining conquest as liberation, defining colonialism as democracy, defining offense as defense.

Why is so hard for them to be good Americans?
