Well this is why. Because we can. We can put out the small fires. Before they become raging inferno's. China has always been a country apart and untouchable. The Soviet Union snuck up on us and got too big to handle before the world realized how bad it was. The fact that the world did not take the USSR seriously in it's infancy allowed them to survive. Russia was always a backwards country and rarely ever a power player on the world stage. Until the 20th century. It was a surprise.
