Unfortunately, I believe you are exactly correct. If the Syrian proposal to ban WMD's is sincere they would understand the necessity of recognizing Israel and signing a non-aggression pact. I'll repeat my view that I would love to see these things happen. That, and an agreement with the Palestinians to peacefully co-exist with each other would make my millenium.
