Reductio ad absurdum, or something not far from that.

Your bit...

"Not A Bad Idea

Not gonna post a poem.
Not gonna slip and showem.
Not gonna stick MY neck out;
Not gonna open my mout."

...is diggerel, yes? It's sort of fun and zippy. (Penni's previous post about females, with her line that you open with, about "even bad would be better" is diggerel too, yes?)

Just when I am reacquainting with Skipper, and seeking a warm entrance through Alexa'a armor, Andrew bursts forth with gratuitous condemnation that has no humor, no spear, and no rationality...oi!

Don't you agree that it would be preferable to have your Poets at least re-read the material they post? Or is simply making paragraphs out of phrases or ignoring capital letters enough to impose one's dribblings on the readers' consciousnesses?

I teach elementary schoolers. One of the hardest lessons about the reading process is the one dealing with Revision. They hate it! The writer becoming a reader, and altering his (or her) output in response, is an affront to these kiddies.

Your doggerel surely can't mean that everything is shot at, so nothing should be tried. Let's just ask for a little discipline or self-control before we seek the fountains' spurts. Ok?

Little lines that parse and rhyme
That do not claim the vast sublime
Give much more substance to the soul
Than vapid tricklings in the bowl

Let's stir the pot and raise the fire
And set our sights a wee bit higher
Or let us do what we do well
And fill the thread with doggerel

Andrew's tirade
Was ill-made
Oh dear
Milk Ear

look
clear pool
green
stone spinning ripples
face mirrored
reflection moving, running
mirror breaking
crossing, weaving
pool stills
web melded

chilling water
heal this torn reflection
