We singled out only two group of people who would die in droves until they become more careful. Homosexuals and intravenous drug users.

All other cases beyond those two groups would be accidental and a few careful steps would avoid. We were no wrong.

Hi elmatador,

We singled out only two group of people who would die in droves until they become more careful. Homosexuals and intravenous drug users.

All other cases beyond those two groups would be accidental and a few careful steps would avoid. We were no wrong.

You neglected to consider hemophiliacs among the victims. And patients who may have needs for blood and blood products. Your assumptions presume that the blood supply of the world somehow doesn't become contaminated.

You've also overlooked widespread transmission of AIDS when the disease becomes endemic in a largely heterosexual yet promiscuous society, such as we are currently witnessing in large parts of Africa. I read somewhere, some time ago now, that if the rate of transmission of AIDS in Africa doesn't slow down quickly, by the year 2010, fully 1/3 of the entire population of Africa will be infected. By the year 2025, that number jumps to 1/2, which doesn't seem like a large jump until one realizes that the 1/3 of the population we mentioned earlier is already dead in only 15 years time!
