I misunderstood, perhaps. WMD's are in fact a side issue and But the basis for this campaign back into Iraq, was to force compliance to the original cease fire from 1991 I took to mean you felt that the WMD was not the primary rationale behind the war.

The relevance of the comments on Pakistan and the IRA was in reference to Bob's paraphrase of Bush's statement that if you have anything to do with terrorists America is coming after you. Perhaps more accurately, if you have anything to do with terrorism against the US or its interests, America will come after you, which is also more credible. And while that may seem picayune, my intention was to point out how complex issues can't always be distilled down to simple statements.
