There is a gold connection. Studebaker, the finest completely domestically designed American Automobile (the others, are originally Canadian designs) next to the Packard, has in concert with GM, a connection with the gold rush of 1849. The advancement of the Auto industry into mass production was the result of the massive capital funding made available from the money flow from gold fields of California.

In truth the Chevy should have been called the Goldstream, and the Studebaker Avanti should have been called the Studebaker Sluice Box.

There was no fiberglass then......

The 53 corvette was made from steel ? Naw it was fiberglass and had a Blue Flame six under the hood and crappy suspension as well. The Avanti was out in 63 and may have started earlier. The Hawk was an later version of the Lowe boy I spoke about. The Hawk was ugly- the low boy way more swoopy and cool to look at.

I missed CNI along with a ton of other stuff. As of late I have been distracted with the simple job of doing those simple day to day chores. Getting up and moving has been a bit tough. I will fill you in if I figure out what is going on.
