I'm a bit the pessimist

Whoops!

I rescind my earlier comment.

We have found common ground to agree on.

the presence of Pakistan. An external threat, whether real or perceived, complicates things.

Complicates only in the minds of folks that need to understand more about the region.

India/Pakistan share these traits :
- Over a few thousand years of living alongside each other as a bunch of kingdoms.
- the notion of "india" and "Pakistan" only came about with partition in 1947.

Want to go into more recent history ? : Bangladesh was "East Pakistan" until 1971. The country known as Bangladesh did not exist until then.

You think all of this changes the way people behave amongst each other ? Of course, the politicians have different motives, and thats where noise comes from.
