Abbas should walk free. He has renounced terrorism, a path he chose out of desperation.

You're serious!!! I can't believe anyone would make such a statement. The guy has been sentenced to five life terms for murder. At the very least he must be returned to Italy to serve his sentence.

You think all murderers who later renounce violence ought to be set free?

There are some real crazies posting on this thread, and I think I found one...

Abbas is a drop in the bucket compared to Sharon.

Sharon hasn't been legitimately tried and convicted of anything.

Freaking liberals have no respect for the rule of law.

Yeah he had no choice but to take over an Italian cruise ship and shoot that dangerous man in the wheelchair. If he hadn't done it who knows what kind of plot Klinghoffer might of hatched against him

And yet, this is being portrayed as capturing a fugitive who nobody could find. Assuming this absurd characterization to be true, should we commence bombing of Israel for sheltering a known terrorist?

While its not likely we will bomb Israel [although not out of the question], I found it interesting that the day after we captured this terrorist Bush announces that we are winning the war on terrorism and Homeland Security drops the alert status from Orange to Yellow. Pure coincidence? I'm too cynical. Were we really at an Orange level of danger?

I also find it interesting that we are finding so many of the Saddam elite in Bagdad. I thought they had all run off to Syria?
