Gottfried, You could try backing up to a network drive, if you have a network (I think I remember that you do.) My experience with Drive Image and networks has been mixed, but I'm using an old version - 4.0. You can download the latest and try it for free to see if the network route is sufficient.

I have been contemplating buying an external 2.0 USB drive. With two computers and a laptop I feel I will have flexible use for backups, digital photos, etc. My preliminary shopping reveals 7200 rpm external drives in the 100MG range to sell at about $180 in retail stores. I haven't shopped the web and also feel a little patience will eventually produce a better price. There are many choices in sizes, speeds, and portability.
