Aluminum was a scare a few years back when Alzheimer patients were found to have high levels of it in their brains but it's thought now this is an effect of their illness and not the cause. Cooking with Aluminum pans adds about 1-2 mg versus an average daily intake of 10 mg (it's the 3rd most abundant element on earth) and a WHO safe intake estimate of 50mg. Of course you might want to be cautious and cutting back on all cooking is good anyway.

I've stopped gargling with mercury though. (G)
