Take a look at T.PMT.UN, T.PVE.UN, T.PGF.UN, and T.SHN.UN .

According to someone I respect a lot, PMT may be a comer. I've also got some T.AET.UN, but it "only" pays 15%. I also have PWI, but am worried about its balance sheet. They may struggle for a while as others leap ahead.

According to my research, the gas situation will probably get tighter in the months (and maybe years) ahead. It's all about depleting reserves, particularly in the US. Caveat Emptor as always.

Hi Jay,
I do not have a feel for where the gas prices go during the summer (presumably down), where the royalty prices go (I assume not up) and so am reluctant to add at this time. What say you on this issue?

If I may be so bold.. That's why I like the hedgers better for LT. PWI is typically better than NCN for that. I own both but sold my PWI traders a while back. NCN I own on a swing trade betting for higher NG prices but it is a modest position as NCN typically does not hedge much.

but Canada deducts a 25% withholding for overseas investors. OUCH! I ditched FAX way back out of Cook Islands ?? because they were withholding 15%.

regards
Kastel

Gas prices going down over the summer ...

"I do not have a feel for where the gas prices go during the summer (presumably down), where the royalty prices go (I assume not up) and so am reluctant to add at this time. What say you on this issue?"

I expected there would be some decline in gas prices, to about $4.50 or so through most of the summer.

That doesn't seem to be happening - prices are staying around $5.50 level - even up to $5.70 today.

North America is close to the edge of a cliff on natural gas supply.

I expect this shortage to enhance the returns, both dividend and captial, on royalty trusts, but I have no idea how far up things will go.

Natural Gas Train Wreck Comming - $8 gas ?

Unlike gold, silver, etc. Natural gas gets used up - it's gone. Higher prices don't bring new sellers into the market from melting coins, scrap or recycling - drilling is needed.
