1) We could have ignored Pearl Harbor, pulled the plug on the Dutch East Indies oil embargo, and Japan would have turned away.

2) We could have laughed at Adolph Hitler's declaration of war, and made jokes about Wehrmacht troops in row boats-without any significant penalty.

The Shepards of THAT day wanted to do exactly all that. Only in retrospect did we overwhelmingly conclude that the destruction of the Axis was worth it, and that it led to the destruction of a far more dangerous totalitarian in the Reagan era: Stalinist Russia.

It was long past time for Saddam to be destroyed. It was long past time to grab the subhuman Islamic world by the throat and put their choke chain back on, before they killed 10 million of us...

Bushed and Blair pulled one over on the rest of the world.

Nobody was fooled (except for the RWEs in the U.S.) but there is little the world could do to stop a madman bent on war who had twice the arsenal of the rest of the world combined.

To send even one of our troops to his death under a cover is reason enough to throw Bush out. Lies that result in deaths of our fellow citizens are very serious.
