Yeah, I remember those days. But a major difference exists now. People are not piling into the nasdaq or any other part of the equity market. Many who would have sold have done so and most of the others are fearful to reinvest. People seem to think that equities can't rise materially in light of increasing unemployment, poor earnings, and the likelyhood of further terrorist actions. But the market is a future discounting mechanism. Check out Hedly's article at SI.

This rally seems a little different than those old days. Yeah, Hedley, might be right and we're approaching a water fall sell off or.....on the other hand maybe this rally is different, exactly, and is not your "typical" bear market counter trend rally which spikes and lasts only a couple months and then fades to lower lows. Maybe this bottoming process which has lasted three years will give rise to Brinker's cyclical rally in a secular bear or maybe it won't. Just keeping my mind open to the possibility as this rally does seem a little different than the other bear market rallies. LR
