There's a BIG difference between declaring that two objects should always be weighed fairly, and that two objects should always weigh the same (whether they do or not). Don't you think you're confusing the two?

I don't think any of us are completely devoid of such confusion. Certainly Morris isn't.

Absolutely. But ask yourself, who has created this environment? who has sustained it? Israel is certainly complicit. But Israel did not create or sustain this environment. It was created by the Palestinians themselves, and by Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, and maintained by UNWRA.

I wouldn't disagree with that, but the question is not how this condition was created - and as you say, nobody's innocent - but how it can be resolved.

Now President Bush is attending to the problem - as Alexander did to the Gordian knot.

I think it's a bit premature to say that the problem is being attended to. I also think it's unlikely that any solution that presumes one party to be the "good guys" and the other to be the "bad guys" has any chance of succeeding.
