"Both countries <Iraq & France> suffered immensely at
the hands of their new leaders"

Actually Thomas, that statement is widely accepted as
factual. It is supported by substantial credible evidence
from multiple sources, including thousands of first hand
witnesses.

However, your statement, "One could just as easily say
the same thing about George Bush"
, is shocking in its'
temerity. It does however, expose an extreme bias on your
part IMO.

Any such comparison of the Butcher of Baghdad & Hitler's
Nazism with President Bush's tenure are ludicrous &
wholely unfounded.

You complimentary comments about the Butcher of Baghdad's
regime are laughable, but they do shed some light on where
your POV lies. Anything positive done by the Butcher of
Baghdad was only for a select minority who supported this
murderous regime. Meanwhile the vast majority of the Iraqi
population suffered horrific atrocities & crimes against
humanity. So much so that they are now poorer, less
educated & less healthy than prior to the Ba'ath Party
overthrow of Iraq's government.

And that's for those who weren't slaughtered.

How do you explain the rape, torture & imprisonment of
hundreds of thousands of Iraqi men, women & children for
alleged political crimes, ET AL? How was their experience
better under the Butcher of Baghdad?

"Okay, now I see where you are coming from. Never mind."

I see that the truth chased you away from further
embellishments of reality.

One could just as easily say the same thing about George Bush
Statements like that damage your credibility, to compare the US under Bush with Iraq under Saddam.

For example, they built the best health care system in the Arab world.
This intrigues me, and I'm going to look for more detail, but isn't it still kind of like saying Mussolini made the trains run on time?
