President Bush was never close to Saddam. Any closeness of our government & his in the past is just that, in the past. Our world changed dramatically on 9/11. There is no room for any agenda or excuse to allow terrorism with a regional/global reach to be tolerated. Brutal regimes with WMD's & WMD programs too. That growing Terrorist menace in the 1990's became a global war on terrorism on 9/11. It's time they began to understand us better. We danced around this problem for too long. That was seen as weakness. Their mistake was thinking we would do nothing again. Our mistake will be not to finish the job. And no, that doesn't mean we go attack everyone everywhere either. Those who are part of the terrorist network or are involved in WMD's will have a choice. It will be up to them to become part of the solution or face the consequences because terrorism & WMD's are the biggest NIMBY issue in history. JMO Regarding the rest of your post, I can agree with you on the disparity regarding medical treatment. That is a problem that has plagued America for far too long. Same for the disparity between the rich & the poor. I do not buy the hunger argument though. Sure there may be a scant few who go hungry in America, but it's not for the lack of food or the ability to get fed. Even the poorest of the poor can find a meal from the Gov't, schools, all manner of charities, programs & churches, etc. They are all available nationwide. Perhaps I am wrong, but I think it would have to be more neglect &/or indifference that allows children to go hungry in America today. Again, I'm not saying it doesn't exist. I just don't think it is a real problem in terms of numbers or for lack of effort. Enough ranting. Good night.
