Tom, thanks for your thoughtful post.
Life is good, after all these years, I'm still learning something new everyday -g-

I've compared put/short and VIX.
Both have a lot in common and the p/s ratio seems to be a useful tool, but I like VIX better as a investors sentiment gage.
VIX seem to represent better picture.

It's good to know the general public is quite comfortable with this market.
I think the shorts have a better chance of nice down turn when everyone feels all is well...

Stage is set for a rude awakening.
