Well, Sir Francis Drake died in 1596 near Portobelo, Panama (where a lot of gold was being shipped from their to Spain). So it might have been a bit difficult to serve under Washington..

And I'm sure none of our Continental Navy uniforms would have fit him in such a condition... :0) But given the amazing "channeling" qualities of people like Shirley McClaine and John Edwards, I'm sure he's ready and willing to serve right now... Just get your ouija board out.. :0)

As an aside, some diver claimed to have found Drake's lead coffin at one time. They notified the government, but it was decided not to desecrate the gravesite.

Yeah.. right.. It would not surprise me if someone salvaged it and has it in their private collection somewhere.
