Pakistan welcomes Vajpayee's statement (Updated at 1630 PST) ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Friday welcomed the statement of Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee in which he said that problems could not be resolved through the barrel of the gun but only through dialogue. Addressing a public rally, Vajpayee said a gun could be used to kill a person but cannot remove his hunger. He said that it was "good" that the war in Iraq had come to an end.
