well i didn't know who or what i would see, but i saw more opened windows and just kept going in that direction.

honestly, i thought if she looked up and saw me she might slam the window shut, plus i was starting to get a little nervous being so far from the safety of my own balcony.

we did other stuff in that apartment building

like ride on top of the elevator cars, stepping from one to the other as they passed. there were three cars... two passenger elevators and one service elevator, all riding up and down in the same main shaft. they have master controls on top of an elevator that allowed us to override whatever buttons had been pressed inside the car.

but none of that was scary then. it's only in looking back that my palms begin to sweat and i wonder what in the world must i have been thinking. or not thinking.
