Lower USD might help US autos slightly through minor market share gains, but you have to remember that the only real difference between Asian and US nameplate autos these days is who is selling it. If I'm not mistaken, the parts all come from pretty much the same place. And on that score, the impact of a lower USD is obvious - higher import prices will lower demand, period.
