rrufff, I'm not religious myself. But I respect religions which teach good basic ethics. And I follow logic.

Why we discuss the Jewish, Christian and Muslim religions in "Stop the War!" thread? It's because the religions have been the main part of the issue in today's Middle East conflicts.

We often see and hear two things from some people or the media:

1. Muslims are the enemies of the Jewish religion and the Christianity, therefore, The U.S., the Western world and Israel should work together to defeat the Arab world. (the Neocon in US is also known to act strongly on this notion).

How true is this? Does it mean the main religion of Israel today shares the basic beliefs of the Christianity? People would naturally look into the bible of the Israel's main religion to look for the answer. Well, the study shows that it's not the case. One religion is based on the belief in Jesus and the other one is strongly against it. I can't comment who is right and who is wrong about that. But the Media's claim and the Neocon's action based on this theory is weak at best.

2. Zionists' claim for the Palestine land and the Jerusalem, which they lost 2000 years ago is also based on the Jewish bible. So this issue for sure comes with a strong religious belief, otherwise, how can they claim the land which was lost 2000 years ago(but perhaps it's just some kind of "reason" rather than a belief to many secular Jews who claim the land).

The question is should we rule the world based on the bibles? Even if it's "yes", which bible should we go by?

The fighting and talking seem endless...often inevitably for religious believes as well as for self interests.
