Even if you consider reservists not to be civilians when they are not called up for duty your own post shows Israeli civilians. It talks about the refuseniks and Israeli men do three years of compulsory military service from the age of 18and then at least a month a year of reserve duty until the age of 40. I thought it was literally for life. Understandably, life is short in the ME. Even with that, I still don't see how suicide bombers are worse than armed attacks on Gaza or the West Bank.
