France has not been an ally of the US for 40 years. Let's cut the crap and be done with it.

And the coalition to enforce that needs doers, not talkers. The French would talk anything to death.

Explain something to me: How is that a nation that got overrun by Germany in 6 weeks is on the Security Council, but Germany is not?

In addition, French history and culture helped shape Western/Christian Civilization.
So did Italy and Greece. I guess they belong on the Security Council too. And, and while were at it, the Jews have made quite a contribution to civilization, so I guess Israel gets a seat.

To destroy our alliance with France would be like destroying a cornerstone of our own culture and civilization.
Going to war without France is like going fishing without an accordion.

You might just have to ENFORCE this thing. You probably will once or twice. We don't need a nation that throws a fit or gets its butt kicked.

The only problem I see with that proposal is this little thing called the Jewish Lobby. They have slaughtered Congressional candidates before and would pull out all the stops on this. You'd need a President like Bush who gets elected without announcing intent to implement this, then does it and shoves it down Congress's throat. And figures if that means only one term, it means only one term.

And you do understand it means the Jews in Israel don't get slaughtered? In fact it means specifically that they DON'T get slaughtered. If the Muslims attempt to do so, they end up looking at B1Bs with their bomb bay doors open.

Has the word "Moslem" morphed into the more-current "Muslim"? Or in fact is there a difference in meaning?

de Gaule kicked the US out of France as he pulled out of NATO with his defense doctrine "tout azimuts".
