North Korea has no nuclear weapons. They are rumored to be within a short distance of making one or two but only as a reaction to Bush's Axis Of Evil perceived threats. As their counter-threat. They also have no ICBM's contrary to Bushie Propaganda.

NK has no nuclear weapons. What is unclear is if they have started up the preliminary procecures for processing nuclear type fuel or not. No one even knows if they've begun that. They are a fairly long distance from nukes, though it's possible they could create them. If they do, it will be a big problem. Until they do, we ought to be talking and invading them with capitalism. That opened up China. It can work in NK over time too. The problem in NK is we have no credible military option without 1 million people dying, a good part of them South Koreans.

Jimmy Carter is a great, honest Christian man though admittedly not a hawk. The tragedy of the crashed hostage rescue mission should not be used against him. He inherited Iran, the fall of the Shah and OPEC oil prices trouble, as well as huge Vietnam War debts, remember, was hit hard by them and tried to do something. And post-Vietnam nobody in this country wanted to go to war again.

If that mission had succeeded he might have survived to run again. But sandstorms happen. As we saw the second day of GW's war when things looked gloomy.
