I have to repeat, I think the economy is already being stimulated by easy credit. The problem is nobody wants to borrow, or their position is so shakey that nobody wants to lend to them.

To try and use an analogy.

You are suggesting priming the pump when the problem is that the water table has dropped below the intake pipe. You could do it, and when you pumped you would get the priming water back out, or most of it, but the well would not be sustaining until the water table gets back up.

Short term stimulus has only one source, the deficit. The deficit is a tax increase on our children. It is not only unfair, but it is going to make them so much less productive the country may stagnate for an entire generation.
