I think the lack of support for the Palestinians, where it exists, is centered around one thing -- terrorism. I think most Americans agree that no progress can be made on the Palestinian issue until the terrorism stops. This is certainly the perspective of the administration, and it would appear to be a sensible one. Stopping the terrorism is a necessary precondition to any resolution of the Palestinian issue.

The people you are calling terrorists are Palestinian revolutionaries......not to be confused with Osama bin Laden. Much like our American revolutionaries, the goal of the Palestinians is an independent state. Until they get that, this shit won't stop.

The way we are reacting and dealing with the ME is mostly wrong. Instinctively, I knew invading Iraq was wrong but only recently did I fully understand why. Saddam was complying with US demands but in order to save face, he was doing it mixed with expressions of false bravado much like kim jong of NK is doing. Its the only way he could live with himself. Apparently, the Arab world understood as did the Iraqis.......its their reaction to the war that's made it clearer to me. Its why they are so angry at us. By deposing Saddam, we've rubbed their collective nose in shit and reminded them of their previous pummeling at the hands of the Israelis......of how weak they really are. We have set back our relations with the ME by probably 20 years at least. Its too bad.
