That would definitely speed things up but is MUCH more expensive.

The satellite connection still requires a land-line link to the ISP so it's not true 2-way via the satellite.

I worked out that the ornery telephone link with analog modem is the best deal for me because I actually spend most of my internet time neither uploading nor downloading but reading and writing. Thus the high connectivity speeds would really be wasted on me. Further, at night here we get a special land line rate for local telephone calls in that we can remain connected for 12 hrs for $1. Also over the weekends.
