And let's not forget that the Middle East was the recipient of centuries of Hellenization too. The Greeks, the Romans, and the Byzantines. From 326 BC. Babylon was Alexander's new capital, where he died on return from India...

The Greek texts were preserved by Muslim scholars after the fall of Rome. They aren't strangers to the Western thread.
