Then you are among the very select few. Most American women I have discussed these issues with reacted very strongly against both concepts before even considering if there are merits to them. Outside of fringe religious groups, polygamy is a taboo. It seems that Americans have easier time accepting out of marriage sex and even adultery than to give credit to a moral and consensual polygamy. Even gay marriages are further ahead than polygamists. I am yet to hear of any liberal (or conservative groups for that matter) who has seriously pointed out how absurd it is to legislate morality and to prevent consenting adults from living their lives as they see fit.
