Silicon Gulch (Santa Clara County) now leads the nation among counties with over 250,000 people in number of people leaving.

And the commercial real estate market here is a disaster. Empty, for lease buildings all over. Buildings in locations that companies would kill for a few years ago.

Happy Easter Joan. I've noticed the same at Galleria, also at varied times at Southdale. Ridgedale seems to stay hopping though. Block E seems like a dud when I've been there after the first Twins games.

I've seen several prime area apartments with "monthly rentals too". With a 90+% occupancy rate in the city since I've lived here I thought that was telling also.

What I think will be interesting is to see how these "city center" developments will do. They just completed the first phase of a several hundred million dollar one here in Saint Louis Park and I know they are doing them in Maple Grove, Burnsville and a couple other burbs. All have the requisite PNRA's and such. High $$$ rents in the residential sections of them...at just the wrond time.

My neighbor across the street is moving. She sells homes for Centex, says business in the developments is still on fire. Selling out far ahead of schedule (I think she's at a Maple Grove sub now). She bought her house three years ago for 165,000, put about 40,000 into it and has it on the market for 320,000...nice work if you can get it.
