Personally, I'd like to see Sun buy Gateway and start putting out some Solaris laptops. They could do it for chump change, especially since GTW stock is selling for about the value of its cash.

BTW -- disclosure: I bought some GTW a few days ago.

qwik you are right, they HAVE to do stuff like that. in fact, they will be scrambling from here on out. you will see them do things like back AMD and linux that are tantamount to ending it all. the point is, it is too little too late, WHATEVER they do. if I was scottie, I would do a massive stock buyback then try and sell the company to the japanese. they used to bail out many a failed US computer company. they might do it again. you never know.
