I have insurance but I don't have to like it. Basically the way I feel about it is if you have it and never need it you feel screwed, if you need it then you are still screwed because it never replaces what it is you lost. Better to give up your attachments to stuff. Gold is something I buy and hope it doesn't work out.

i assume you're talking about gold. just how exactly do you intend to profit from holding gold at the end of continuity? if it has value, do you seriously think you'll even be allowed to continue owning it? if so, how are you going to protect it?

if continuity ends, you are going to have so many bigger issues than "wealth preservation" - like where are your electricity and potable water going to come from?
